As far as the engine having trouble running at low RPM's. Tis has to do with the way Suzuki tuned the bike to meet EPA standards. There are many tips and tricks further down the message boars however, many of them made it worse. Make sure your idle is up around 1000 to 1200 RMM. As per factory recomendation. Have someone who knows what they are doing set the pilot jet. I also ran a one step hotter plug and My Savage (1987) has not died at idle in over 1500 miles. Hope this helps.
